Building Community

Young Minds in the Community kicked off the year with the recognition of all of our members' busy schedules while adapting to the new opportunities that the new year presents.

Young Minds hosted a community-only game night to provide a space to interact with one another and be present in a community atmosphere while sharing some goals for this year and projects that have begun in the new year. Young Minds In The Community also hosted free professional headshot opportunities for the second year done by an amazing supporter of Young Minds, Janet Coover. To conclude the month, our founder remained determined to represent Young Minds in the Community and remain engaged in clean-up efforts by supporting the SouthEast Community that was affected by the rain storm that misplaced many families.

As SouthEast was the neighborhood where Founder Emilio Carranza-Davis grew up for the majority of his life, he encouraged fellow members to be mindful when opportunities arise to be sure to support, while looking at how to hold ourselves and each other accountable to be sure we are in alignment with what our community and members stand for.
