Pop-Up Event

For the month of September, Young Minds in the Community hosted a pop-up event at a local coffee shop in National City known as Home Coffee. In addition to the amazing coffee that was served, our evening consisted of individuals from various working fields coming together to learn and connect, sharing how their journeys have brought them to their current positions. We discussed our current careers and how we can support one another in our respective roles. Many of the attendees shared the skills they hoped to acquire in their current positions. These conversations provided us with opportunities for growth and a broader perspective on our roles and how they are transforming our lives. One of our newest members shared their passionate involvement with a local San Diego non-profit that focuses on empowering Latinas and transforming communities one step at a time.

To conclude the night, our attendees engaged in recognizing the beauty of conversation that can be created when space is provided for it. During this event, YMIC focused on fostering meaningful conversations by asking thought-provoking questions. For example, each person was tasked with creating and defining what makes them unique in their current role and explaining why they chose to pursue their current position.

Young Minds is committed to showing up and supporting those who want to grow and learn.
